dooglearchie: I truly appreciate your taking the time to reply and share your opinion and the fact that you have indeed done some DD on MCCY yourself. A very good post, which personally, I find much more valuable than the hundreds of one-line 'rah, rah' posts by many members cluttering the board.

Did you notice that I wrote, "maybe I'm just talking to the wrong truckers"? And of course they know all about the "black boxes" (EOBR) to track HOS and several other things. They use them and have a lot to say about them. Believe me, I've gotten quite an education from them. They simply had not seen nor heard about a drowsiness/sleepiness detecting device being used. That doesn't mean that such a device doesn't exist, it just means that these particular four truck drivers haven't heard anything about it, which I found odd. That's all I reported. I should add, three of them are with large transport companies, and one is an independent OO.

And thanks for giving me ideas about other lines of inquiry to pursue. I only wish I had more time to dedicate to this, but I still have to work for a living. :) I hope I can find verification of my main concerns soon.
