in2win: What????? You called 4 truckers who've never heard of this "drowsiness detection" as you call it. Please...do you have any idea how many hundreds of millions of truck drivers there are on this planet? Let alone that the SDS system hasn't even been brought to market yet! Are you purposely overlooking this fact? I mean seriously...thanks for sharing your personal dd methodologies & I'm not gonna knock your efforts but I am going to counter with my own.
First of all...if you're trying to verify the validity of any of the contracts the first & easist step to make is to simply visit the Brasseur trucking link to the real time FOLO access they're providing any interested parties access to!
Second...you need to realize that the co.'s mentioned in the PR's to date have been inundated with swarms of phone calls & emails from penny players ever since their names appeared. I've been told that the phone calls have been a major nuisance as these are trucking co.'s in the biz of constant client communication as per scheduled product delivery & they simply don't have staff on hand to service penny players who've come calling.
So I just don't understand why some people complain when their voice mails or emails go unanswered because obviously some people fail to realize that the employees of these trucking co.'s are constantly dealing with their clients information flow & simply don't have any free time whatsoever to get sidetracked with non biz related issues! Heck what do you expect these trucking co.'s to do...hire new staff & train them in the arts of penny player servicing just because they signed a contract to install the FOLO system in their trucking fleets?
You should be happy that none of the co.'s you attempted to contact responded with a "what the hell are you talking about...we've never heard of the FOLO system let alone this Effective Control Trucking company that's using our name in their press releases"!!!
As for your thoughts that such a technology would spread among truckers quickly...I seriously don't know what kind of truckers you contacted as every single trucker in North America is already well aware of the proposed possible "black box" regulatory changes of both the US & CDN govt.'s these days...in fact...it's all the rage & chatter in the entire trucking industry these days and has been all year...so even if the 4 truckers you contacted haven't heard of SDS specifically(which is not surprising at all since it hasn't even launched yet)...they'd at least have been able to discuss all the proposed "black box" chatter(speed governors...log entries...gps monitoring...etc & proposed govt. access to the data)!
Regardless...I'm just sometimes flabbergasted at how much proof some people think they require. I mean it's not enough that this company already has a contract with the govt. of Quebec...it's not enough that Claude Robert has been appointed to the advisory board(I'm sure the head of the CTA is well aware his name has appeared in PR's here)...it's not enough that this company is presenting the FOLO/SDS system to the USDOT this friday...& it's not enough that Brasseur trucking put up a link to appease penny players who wanted more proof of the product/contracts!
I could probably sit here for the next several hours & post my dd findings from the industry contacts I've made...whether it be the details of my phone calls to my buddy at TransX or his phone calls to his buddies at QuickX, Western, Kris Kay etc etc etc & the hours of ensuing discussions that resulted with trucking company owners, dispatchers, contracted drivers & inependant owner/operators but I won't because quite frankly I'm beyond blown away with this co.'s progress to date & am beyond fully confident in mgmt.'s immediate plans for rapid growth. In fact...I fully expect that by mondays CC the lingering doubts remaining for some will disappear forever so I'm more than content to sit back for another couple of days and let Raphael Huppe do the talking in mondays CC as it should be!
Oh ya...fwiw...the trucking industry reps I've contacted are as excited about what's unfolding here as I am, so again...I can't stress enough that when it comes to personal dd methodologies...everyone has their own ways of finding people to talk to...& everyone has their own ways of piecing together the pieces of an emerging story b4 the rest of the market catches on.
