Good Morning OH and all,
Talked to Scottrade again this morning.
After getting nowhere with their Corporate folks in St.Louis this morning except for being told to call the OSC ( they did give me the OSC's telephone #....big deal ), I called my local folks who were quite a bit more cooperative but really didn't get me much further.
While the basic reason for the halt appears to be the OSC hearing, Scottrade is cognizant of the various stories floating around and is waiting for the DTC to tell them what happens next. Quote, " we're aware of the particulars but will not do anything until we hear from the DTC "
Lots of crystal ball gazing and reading between the lines....
1. Don't think the OSC is the actual reason to stop trading within Scottrade......although it's a good excuse
2. The double pound sign means it is obviously halted for the "buy" and "sell" due to possibly a few factors such as...
reorganizations, possible buyouts, mergers, etc ....according to them ( Scottrade ) ....they claim to have no info as to that aspect.
3. Since they will not move off top dead center until they hear from the DTC.....my suspicions are......
There are some folks who are feverishly trying to see and match shares bought, sold, and delivered to the brokerages through the DTC....and that could be a good thing to clear up the mess that Select American and perhaps others created.
Also would not be surprised if we get the name change, symbol, and cusip # change shortly....like next week.
If the Koreans ( PMCL ) time this stuff right including the forward split.....and make an announcement after the close tomorrow perhaps......that will leave a lot of folks out in the cold ( the ones that figured they could get back in cheap )
It could also leave the DTC, Transfer Agents, and Brokerages scrambling for shares.
I just love the chaos in the market place....as long as one has ice flowing through their veins and a stainless steel stomach.......
Time to sit back, relax, and watch the show go buy....and oh yes....still calmly sitting on over 2.2 million shares of PMCL that should have a new symbol soon.
