Oh yeah, we all surely know how the paperwork, fees, documentation and standing in line discourages people from buying and registering cars.
Cars entail a significant cost. Insurance, title fees, gas, the price of the car itself, etc.
The same holds true with guns. Misguided leftists like yourself try to ban cheap guns (what are commonly referred to as "Saturday Night Specials") and impose mandatory licensing and training programs, believing that this will promote safety. Yet you and others like yourself fail to realize that you are harming the people most in need of protection: the poor minorities living in crime-ridden inner-cities.
The more expensive you make gun purchases, the less chance law-abiding citizens will defend themselves and help prevent crime. This is simple economics, so I don't expect you to understand it.
As if that weren't a lame enough argument in and of itself, why should they be ENcouraged to buy guys anyway? I don't particularly wish to encourage anyone to buy guns.
Because the more guns controlled by law abiding citizens, the less crime. Remember this study?
