brazen22,
All the points about readiness are fair. There is no instant solution for contract expansion. Linda has given a two year time frame from start to finish for meeting a need so this is likely nearly a two year minimum look out for expansion. This fits with the choked off demand created by not having a NICE agreement while development is given a chance to progress. Demand not being met will be significant under this scenario BUT it allows a cash strapped company the ability to progress at pace without compromising safety or quality for patients.
This is why IFRs and the Cancer Fund are so important. There will be an increase in self paying patients as well as non GBM Specials interest too. Just this will keep the Sawston site quite occupied. The two years out point is where the flood from NHS reimbursed patients will be the need being prepared for. Near term ramp appears to be only focused on artisan being sufficient for now as the Class C clean room plans have been put on hold. One way this could be good news is if all L expansion will be done under contract with another interested entity and all current capacity at Sawston is being planned for Specials or other which perhaps is being delayed for a more cost efficient starting point or under the direction of others which the change in structural engineering plans for buildout might be pointing to. Best wishes.
