There are no direct answers for that question. It is one of where the rumor got stretched. The rumor implies the use of Liquidmetal’s use to produce the Apple hinge. That never was in doubt.

The stretch to the rumor, is in your question of will LQMT receive any $$$$ from the hinge if Liquidmetal is used.

Whether LQMT receives $$$$ or not from the hinge if in fact it is Liquidmetal’s IP AND LL’s process is much easier to answer and has already been answered. The marketing exposure of a super mega cap like Apple’s use of LQMT’s Liquidmetal would be enormous for LQMT to seal deals in all other endeavors. ONE WOULD THINK!

And if LQMT receives any kind of $$$$$ from that deal even if insignificant would be the icing on the potential cake.

But in the meantime until any of those potentials are realized, WE WAIT!

We already know what the opposite end of the story is. We are closer to a penny than a dollar and floating around a dime still sucks.

LL’s success or failure abroad will also be a factor if Apple delays the game. Perhaps Samsung can throw him a huge bone. As tc points out clearly products sold only in China’s market does not benefit LQMT, not one penny.

Yes LQMT can capitalize off of Apple without earning any $$$$. The next question is whether they know how. So far they have been shtt out of luck. But that is the gamble, the risk one has to take to roll the dice.
