Try to reconcile some of the ‘ huge’ 32 mio share volume and share price spike yesterday. Shorts off market ( the ‘off market constituents’ crowd ) were 8.2 mio. If I can put that against the 12.7 mio reported short position, that’s 8.2/12.7=0,646 % or two thirds. No idea, but would that make sense and indicate that 65% of the existing short position was traded yesterday? Maybe someone with more experience and/or insight can comment? Would be nice to get a handle on the volume structure yesterday: short buys, retail buys and institutional buys minus the sales.
