New cell in our inventory. Amprius SA112 cylindrical 21700! 🔍

A 6.5 Ah cell added to the Amprius product line up and more than 10% improvement on the original 21700, the SA17. It has just arrived in our About Energy labs for third party verified testing and modelling.

Initial specs:

• Cylindrical format
• 3.46 V nominal
• 6.5 Ah, around 22.5 Wh
• Max continuous discharge 13 A

Energy and power density:

• Gravimetric energy density 315 Wh per kg
• Gravimetric power density 616 W per kg
• Volumetric energy density 860 Wh per L

Compared with the SA17:

• Gravimetric energy density around +12%
• Gravimetric power density around +10%

Versus the SA17, the SA112 delivers a clear uplift in gravimetric power and energy density, supporting further performance gains in demanding airborne and lightweight platforms.

It will be coming soon to The Voltt, enabling 70% reduced time and cost for cell evaluation compared with standalone physical testing. Full spec sheet in the comments!
