NHS apheresis capacity is a significant bottleneck in the UK and so seeing NWBO get out ahead of this with both private partner clinics and their own in-house clinic is great news IMO!

Yeah, they are taking the bull by the horns. They can’t count on the NHS for additional apheresis load. abc1212 noted NHS had 8 sites across the country back in 2024 and now they have 10. https://www.nhsbt.nhs.uk/what-we-do/diagnostic-and-therapeutic-services/therapeutic-apheresis/therapeutic-apheresis-units/

Seeing the Quality Manager, Apheresis Clinic job function posted is very uplifting mainly because it screams, as you say, we are very close to approval. In addition, it also shouts that they’ll be using this site to support clinical trials. GxP is noted several times in addition to experience in HTA and GMP regs. We’re not talking Good Laboratory Practice since that’s research, we’re talking Good Clinical Practice. The person they hire will need to be versed in GCP to help clinical trials run smoothly. Just a matter of time. Resistance is Futile.
