It is really too bad some people are so deranged that they can't even interpret data.

That yahoo article is based on a Consumer Reports article:

Tesla, for instance, is ranked low in terms of used-car reliability when looking at how their models from 5 to 10 years ago hold up.

Sure, the first Tesla Model S had some issues.

Not the case anymore.
Tesla's reliability is a mixed picture: recent new models show average or above-average reliability, a significant improvement from previous years. Owners often report very high satisfaction despite the potential for issues, valuing the technology and performance.

Current Reliability (New Models)
Recent data from automotive experts indicates substantial improvement in Tesla's new vehicle reliability:
Overall Brand Ranking: In recent 2026 reports, Consumer Reports has ranked Tesla as high as ninth out of 26 brands for new car reliability, placing it above many luxury and traditional automakers.
Most Reliable Models:

The Tesla Model 3 and Model Y are considered the most reliable within the lineup, with average or above-average predicted reliability scores.

Fewer Mechanical Issues: Owners and experts note that the core EV components (motors and batteries) are highly durable and rarely cause problems. Most issues are minor and related to build quality, paint, or electronic glitches.

Takeaway, don't buy a 10 year old Tesla. Not rocket science.

It is really too bad because someone hates another person they simply can't interpret real facts.
