A fair point and the belief in things like the alleged investigation or an alleged change to all cancers or alleged manufacturing change is because this lengthening wait is getting harder and harder to square with common sense.
The truth is that MHRA is a government bureaucracy and is slow and cautious and NWBO is slow and cautious at execution. So when we have two slow-ass entities ‘collaborating’ instead of cancelling each other out, they get slower. Given that GBM patients are dying with each month of delay It is easy to start to reach for ‘sexier’ explanations for this murderous delay since ineptitude at MHRA and NWBO is such a banal reason for so many to die.
This was not the picture of MHRA and NWBO’s relationship that some pumpers sold in the lead up to the application submission or even what independent shareholders wanted to believe.
We were sold the idea that MHRA was eager to help and had a good relationship with NWBO and that the UK would compensate for its limited potential revenue by being relatively easy and fast to get approval in.
Nope.
Shareholders have had a lot of more reasonable expectations than these and not all from pumpers.
These include the idea that once MHRA finally did get a fully tweaked applications that just like a college paper it would be read and either given a passing or failing grade. Certainly when this hope was expressed nobody and I mean nobody here talked about RFI’s and response times or clock off periods etc. Magically all that talk only emerged after in late December 2023.
Another half-way reasonable expectation was that all the extra time taken from October 2020 (when TLD was expected) to December 2023 would have resulted in an idiot-proof application where all the info MHRA needed was right there within it and that therefore getting to an up or down would be reasonably quick. In real life that would be the case but with NWBO and longer wait on one step creates no immunity to an equally long wait on other steps.
So that is why we get the basher and pumper far-fetched explanations for the delay at MHRA delay with the other explanation being to try and use fancy math to pretend this wait is normal.
