$GRLT Symbol Change Enters Final Stretch, FINRA Requests Alternate Tickers

FINRA asking for additional ticker options, John mentioned in his Nov 11 poll, is a pretty clear signal that the process is past the hard part. That means the core review, GRLT’s corporate structure, merger filings, and overall compliance are basically done. The timing also lines up with the recent OTC Markets update under Rule 6490, which probably synced the share data ahead of this step.

FINRA doesn’t request alternative tickers until an issuer clears that initial vetting phase and there aren’t any red flags left, like conflicts or unresolved corporate actions. At this point, the focus shifts to something much lighter: checking ticker availability and making sure the options aren’t misleading or too close to an existing symbol.

Once the company sends back two or three new choices, like TOKN, PTKN, or PMIR, it usually takes 5–10 business days for FINRA to finalize approval on a voluntary symbol change under Rule 6490.

Looking at the timeline, the original submission seems to have gone in around Oct 28, and FINRA’s follow-up came on Nov 11. That suggests we’re down to the final stretch here, possibly days, maybe a week at most, especially if Zhang’s team turns around the updated options quickly. My guess is Xenergy’s business development arm is helping keep this one moving. Good riddance to GRLT and Grillit.

P.S. A basher swore this would never happen, that the baggage was too heavy, that it’d never get cleared. And yet, here we are. Let that be a reminder to always do your own due diligence and tune out the noise. Most of those posts you see are designed to shake you out of your position. They want your shares, or they want you to take a loss. Don’t give them the satisfaction.
