You could make the case. But... Jesse Livermore (you old timers will remember who....) believed it would be unethical to not roll the placebo REDUCE IT group over to V at the interim. The night before they released the results, we were all squinched up hoping/praying to get 7% reduction since nothing had been released and of course they were ethically obligated. We got close to 4 times that. Double blind studies of gawdawful diseases stay sealed/opaque until conferences/scheduled releases.
