For people who want a new computer but don't want Win 11, you can always buy one which you can configure yourself and choose the operating system. You still won't get the security patches, but some folks don't care.
I think for home use, people just want a reasonably secure computer that will do what they need, and run the programs they want to run. Employers, of course, will have their IT people deal with it.
The only thing I don't like about Mac is that if you're a heavy user, the hard drive will die after it's about five years old. Maybe little after it turns six. Too soon. But there are no issues with operating systems. And Macs are still less likely to be hacked than PCs.
