Mendy deserves a decent amount of blame and I'm in the minority in this on fellow mets fans, I would bring him back at least to start 2026 (and the mets said they will), admittingly he would be in a prove it year. he was so good in 2024, and personally I think the pitching staff a certain man from Milwaukee gave him was the real failure. I mean the starters era was near 6 in like the last 93 games. they used more pitchers this year than any team in baseball history. let me say that again they used more pitchers this year than any team in baseball history. Down the stretch albeit talented they were counting on 3 rookies making 60% of the starts in the last month of the season, with almost a 350 million payroll.

The mets manager managed that game the worst I have ever seen and putting stanek in there over raley made no sense. let raley finish the inning. But his whole take one guy out, it didn't even make sense it was like he was doing a spring training game and had a schedule of the pitcher that need to pitched yesterday, it was insane how he was pulling pitchers out of the game and when he did it. Pulling manaea out when he did made no sense, than pulling brazoban out so far made no sense, pulling raley out when he did made no sense. putting stanek in at that point made no sense. Using diaz in the 5th inning. I mean we can get on his managing. End result is this so good top offense suddenly disappears when the pressure is on it was like that all year. And although the numbers look great, ask yourself this why was this the only team in MLB not to comeback in the 9th, the only team, every team did it, they were essentially top 5- to top 10 in all important offensive categories. yet they could win one game from behind. because this team had no heart, was complacent from the top down, and than after complacency wore off, panic set in and what that led to was ton of mental mistakes, and even more pressing.

Pete was unlucky but that was the only point I felt that way, when he hit a 116 mph rocket. end result though is they couldn't even get a run off the marlins bullpen. the starter only lasted 5. Having said that we can get on the pitching decision by mendy, but it didn't matter who managed that game because they weren't scoring if they played 20 innings. Hopefully the man from milwaukee has a better offseason, time will tell if he does. because at the end of the day he is the main culprit here, not mendy in my opinion.

---All above is just my humble opinion.
And I could always be wrong.
And as always do your own DD.---
