Big difference is that Pilot and crew updates you regularly . Crew doesn't disappear from the main cabin where the passengers are, and pilot doesn't go on radio silence for hours if you have to sit in the plane and wait that long . Imagine how passengers will reapond if that happens . That is a VERY BIG difference .
