But the Mets will make the playoffs. And we know anything can happen. Look at last year: they had to win in Atlanta just to secure the WC. They hit their stride and were a couple of good arms away from winning the pennant.
The Yankees on the other hand, I'm not so convinced. Any version of Judge that isn't 100% might very well be too much for the Yankees to overcome, and he's clearly not close to 100%. The Yanks rotation after Fried is shaky at best, and their bullpen funk has been well chronicled on this board, lol. Last year it was Torres, who took on (one of the) roles of whipping boy for the Yankees. Now it's Volpe, the Martian...probably a few more in there I'm missing. Well Torres has been doing just fine in Detroit. Nothing incredible, but more than adequate with the bat and almost adequate with the glove.
More than a bat or an arm, the Yanks need a bench chemist.
