Lightwave Logic is a lost cause (I'm serious)
This company is circling the drain but many do not even realize that there is no future here.
This company has no future.

Based on fibeReality’s most recent intelligence, for 400G lanes in datacom, Coherent Corp.’s priority on material platforms will be the incumbent solutions, InP and native silicon photonics (please see: https://lnkd.in/ejSkGntW). The alternative selection would be TFLN. Simply put, no polymer supplier can succeed as long as such an instrumental player (particularly one based in the west), remains very skeptical about the solution (please also see: https://lnkd.in/ezmEXAM7). In particular, the new leadership at Lightwave Logic cannot afford to waste any more time with a gradual transformation in the culture of the firm, including one that insists on counterproductive messaging, such as negative assertions against TFLN. There needs to be an unmistakable mandate from the top at Lightwave right away that everything will now be about execution, building upon the creation of the PDK, that pragmatically decreases the entry threshold, rather than such a heavy emphasis on technology/IP differentiation (especially when there is still the view of fundamental improvements being necessary for stability of the solution). Even if these large users are somewhat mistaken about their assessments or prejudiced by past actions by the previous leadership – perception is reality. Lightwave will need to be sufficiently proactive, such as in making sure it is producing enough peer-reviewed papers with data, under the rigorous test conditions insisted by the hyperscalers, related to matters such as temperature tolerance. A picture of polymers that burn in the minds of engineers needs to be addressed right away. The true state of lifetime testing with polymers can no longer be hidden from influential individuals in the optics space. The supplier will also need to do everything possible to provide engineers, specifically at Coherent, with an adequate comfort level. Any remnants from the historic, strict secretiveness by the scientists in the past at Lightwave need to be eliminated, to create an adequate confidence level at the technical layer of possible buyers. While it may still require a minor miracle for polymer vendors to achieve success within the next four years (please see: https://lnkd.in/eZAva7Q8), a lack of an immediate, radical change in attitude and implementation, that fully applies to the entire corporation, will definitely ensure a totally hopeless situation.
