I have friends who can look at the financials and immediately determine the quality, but I can't do it. I have friends who think its fun. I stay in my own lane on how I invest and very occasionally I will seek the viewpoint from another.
Mark Cuban has this crazy sense to immediately recognize an opportunity and think outside the box with it.
If I bring him an idea and he doesn't like it, that's good enough for me.
So, for me its charting, with just enough reading of the fundamentals to get myself into trouble.
When I was in the 9th grade, I found balancing chemical equations to be fun. Much like I look at Jumbles today. I had a teacher who used to throw me equations to solve......that's how some guys I know feel about reading financial reports.
