A Series of Airplane Accidents marked the End of 2024

A series of aviation incidents marred the end of the year and raised concerns about global air safety.

In the last days of December, the aviation industry faced alarming incidents in several countries, and Anadolu Timeline investigates the circumstances and potential causes of these worrying events.

December 25: Azerbaijan Airlines plane crash in Kazakhstan

– December 29: Jeju Air plane crash in South Korea –

– December 29: Air Canada Express plane fire –

December 29: KLM plane makes emergency landing in Norway –

December 29: Plane crashes at Stuttgart Airport in Germany –

- Cessna C-172 (Not Major)

December 29: Plane crashes in UAE –

- light aircraft (not major)

December 30: Jeju Air plane makes emergency landing

Not sure why it includes light aircraft incidents as these happen almost daily. But this list is missing two other major incidents.

December 23rd: The Airbus A220-300 jet, with 74 passengers and five crew on board, was flying from Bucharest to Zurich on December 23 when it had to land in Graz, Austria after engine problems occurred and smoke filled the cockpit and cabin. The plane landed safely.
December 28th: United Airlines flight from Chicago to Phoenix had to make an emergency landing in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Saturday morning after the crew reported smoke in the cockpit.
