I decided to read the notice. It seems that the biggest problem with the drug is that it makes you want to sleep and is addictive.

It is an opioid class painkiller so...
Not that I'm a personal advocate, nor is this a reco, but this is where cannabis "can" benefit. Tramadol, as with most opioids are painkillers NOT muscle relaxers. Cannabis, on the other hand, depending on strains, does possess qualities for both. If it's a "short" term duration issue, I guess you deal with it. But, if chronic pain and insomnia are debilitating or going to be longstanding, then it's an option you might consider. I have a couple of veteran friends with a history of long-term / chronic pain that use it for that very purpose who claim it's great (and no, they don't use it everyday).
