Several of my friends are also Rads. Used to fish salmon on Lake Michigan with one them on his own charter boat til he retired and moved to Florida. Field has changed the last 40 years. My last Rad buddy quit working at the hospital just after I retired and now works from home (as do ALL of his colleagues)

The old joke was that all the other medical specialists would often complain to the Rads about how easy they have it by only working 9 to 5. Of course these other specialists were always saying this to the Rads after calling and waking them up all hours of the night- every night- with a question, or a quick read on some study...

Radiology was Always the most desired Residency when my buddies went through. Top 5 in each year grad class often went that route as its quality of life was the best. It is still the highest paying speciality I think as my buddies retiring now in late 50s

I did get the results yesterday, saw the doctor today, and I get to wait until mid December to see a surgeon who may or may not refer me to a rheumatologist , or suggest possible surgical procedures.

Had the MRI a week ago. I got the images but no one has yet to interpret what the hell they depict. I'm waiting, my doctor is waiting, my physio therapist is waiting.

I was thinking that the problem today is that kids don't go to enough social occasions.

I'm from a very small town, Euchre tournament, I'm there with the old ladies and a couple of friends. Open wedding, I'm there to meet girls and dance. ETC.

This just doesn't happen anymore. Video games and social media have taken precedent.

When people start breaking their own hands with hammers to get painkillers you know the stuff is addictive. Had a buddy who got hooked after back issues was a local athlete so of course they profiled his demise in the sports pages. Only time I ever sent the newspaper a letter. I was incensed as it was 20 years after his sports days. Read the Tony Mandarich Book it was sad but at least he made a comeback and won a superbowl.

I am scared of drugs in general I am on a few things for the heart but MY doctor knows My thoughts.

I watched the mini series 'pain' back in May, saw a movie last week, pretty much the same theme, and last night on the news they was a report about drug dealers selling oxy and tramadol on the streets.

Must be a sign that some higher power doesn't want me near the stuff
