The Tower announcement doesn’t mention InP material. Proto’ Gemini question mentions Inp , because that is the material Coherent has been using . There is no reason to assume it will use this also in the future or on this silicon photonics platform. In fact it’s CEO. has been implying new materials in his previous Q update.
What the announcement does state that it is using a silicon photonics platform, 200 mm wafers ( think AMF 200 mm Singapore).
It talks 200 G per lane PAM 4 etc. We know that certain materials like TFLN, barium titanate, polymers and InP could reach those speeds.
We all have an idea where those materials stand in their development , performance , power, form factor and manufacturing compatibility.
Now think again: 200 mm, 1.6T, 3.2 T ,200 G lane, 200 mm wafer foundries.
