I could care less about the braves I would prefer they win. I want them to clinch a playoff spot so they don't care on monday. But this all starts with a mets victory. They need to show up. David Peterson outside of Manaea has been there best pitcher this season.
As for quintana lets be real he gave up a weak contact hit off the end of the bat. he gave up 2 runs not 14. Yes he still is responsible for that and isn't bad luck because walks will always get you, but it is pretty hard to pitch when you feel you can give up 0 and that is the way it felt tonight I have to be honest. I don't think quintana was that bad in fact I would of pitched him in the 4th all the way through so didn't have a problem with the manager. Lets not make it like the mets bullpen is one of the best in baseball it is the weakest part of the team, yet the last several days the defense has been very bad, they really have been good over the last 3-4 months, but not this week. And the offense is generally solid, but they are streaky, they can do nothing and than they will put up 30 runs in 3 days.
Now why did they hit last week. Acuna for starters was hitting his at bats weren't bad tonight. Alvarez can flat out hit the last couple of weeks he hit 5 homers in the last 12 games or so he has played. They need his bat they are gonna have to live with the defense.
Lindor is not himself, but he did get on 3 times yesterday. I suggest they play himat DH again. They need Nimmo and Alonso to wake up. Granted I haven't seen it so far.
