"the average American buys 2.8 T-shirts per year and spends $15.60 (not per shirt, the total for their 2.8 T-shirts)"

all they did was determine how much money was spent on t-shirts and then divided that by the entire population of the US...men, women and children...in other words its bs...

"Nearly all T-shirts sold in the country are priced at less than $6."

DEAD WRONG

" A small fraction are sold at $25+."

DEAD WRONG

here is just one fact...there are 64 mil members of gyms or health clubs in the US...i dont know the last time you were ever in a gym but i guarantee you the vast majority aint wearing $4 t-shirts...and the women are spending a hell of a lot more for their gym clothes...

next time you are out in public, check out the t-shirts men are wearing...you will find that you are the only one walking around in a 4 buck t-shirt...even in the ghetto, they wouldnt be caught dead in a 4 buck t-shirt...

the only thing that statista.com said that made sense was:

"The United States is currently experiencing a surge in demand for sustainable and ethically-made t-shirts, reflecting a growing consumer consciousness towards environmental and social responsibility."
