One can make a sustainable and ethically responsible t-shirt out of cotton. Given the resources needed to produce silk, it’s questionable whether or not this is ‘sustainable and ethically responsible.’

Lots of stores have considerable inventory of t-shirts that cost $6 or less. They wouldn’t have that inventory if people weren’t buying the products.

Men wear t-shirts under dress shirts or even under casual wear. In Mississippi (where I live), one sees a fair number of people wearing a tee under a polo shirt. It minimizes the sweat under your nice shirt.

Men wear t-shirts to bed.

People at some gyms are often wearing what I would consider ‘performance apparel.’ Around here, people at gyms are there for a workout, not for a pickup. You might find it shockingly casual. Same is true for Yoga classes.

I’m sorry you can’t twist your personal experience to fit the statistics. You may be the center of the Universe, but that means, of course, not everyone is like you.
