I R slow. Thanks for the explanation. I had some time to read a lot of posts today. I like to read them sequentially, and as I was going through them, I was impressed with a number of the thoughtful and insightful comments.

But I was surprised when I was scrolling through them and my userid came up, since I haven't posted for a long time.

I would encourage people to keep posting, because there is good stuff here. The bullishness is well founded and IMO so are the concerns. But whether one is a believer or a skeptic, there's nothing to be gained by digging around in the dirt. Better to just make your point or rebuttal and let your points stand on their own merit.

As for my user id, its origin is nothing significant. When I first signed up on the Yahoo m.b. 20+ years ago, I needed a userid. At the time I was doing consulting at a company. They assigned non-employees a userid. In their system, "ou" stands for "outside user." And the number wasn't significant to me - maybe it was to the company, but not to me. Not having any great ideas for a userid, I just used the one I was using on my job. And I continued to use it on IHUB and elsewhere.
