I've decided to exit my position in MMM as I explained on another board last week. I sold 4/19 $145 calls which should exit my position with a small profit. Best of luck with this.

I don't usually agree with Al Root at Barron's but I think he's correct, MMM is not investable at this point. I began buying MMM earlier this year with my final round at $131 so I'm close to even. Since Monday is the 1st and money should be flowing into the market I'll try to pull another dollar or so out of this before I exit.

I like the value but I don't like the long term uncertainty. I like to sleep at night.

The ear plugs are a bad problem but PFAS could be a disaster. Some long-chain PFAS as used in fire fighting foam has proved to be quite dangerous. It's also in all of their protective clothing. MMM has been developing short chain PFAS but it's unclear if that's safe and it doesn't undo their exposure. PFAS is everywhere from fire fighting foam to every piece of rain gear to the french fry packages McDonald's uses.
