That is true in terms of it not being considered for peer review, but clearly you must purchase your right to present in the theater from ASCO, so I hardly think it's isolated from the conference.

In the past I've heard people discussing the advantages of poster presentations vs. live presentations, both have their advantages. Unless the live presentation is for the plenary meetings more people can actually view the poster which is on display for several hours.

As I see it, having a booth there should permit showing everything that might be on a poster, and perhaps more as key people could be in the booth to discuss a variety of topics with attendees who pass through. Let's hope they have the Journal by the conference, if so they'll have a great deal to discuss and hand out in the booth, and perhaps a tote to carry it in. It could very well be one of the most popular exhibits at the conference.
