Pokestake: Yep, that's Lockheed's baby alright. Now, the big question is; will Lockheed GIVE BACK the $140M to DARPA? No way, Jose! Notice how they delayed everything right up to this time? They got a similar amount of money about seven years ago and produced nothing. Then, they get another lump sum and their hangar in Akron burns up. Then, they needed another $8M to develop a suitable covering for their airship. Notice that nearly all of Lockheeds' exotic projects has either ended in failure (MicroStar) or were cancelled outright by the government (airship). Also notice that not one penny of the more than 1/4 BILLION DOLLARS of US taxpayers money was ever refunded.

DARPA is the conduit through which enormous amounts of CIA money is funneled into Lockheed. The Lockheed airship project is now CLOSED thanks to GTEM. This tells me that the Strat is very close to being launched. A government shutdown of the Lockheed airship project will save them the embarassment of having to admit that a small private company beat Lockheed at their own game.

Lockheed is now faced with dreaming up another exotic project with which to glean money from DARPA. These last two projects amounted to $1.00 each from every tax paying American citizen. They don't account for the money and they don't pay taxes on it either. Nice work if you can get it!

No man should be considered totally useless....because he can always serve as a bad example.
