Their time is rapidly running out.

Sadly, this is just not so.

NWBO is very good at adding time for themselves, though that is small comfort to patients and their families or to shareholders who have been waiting for years for a resolution.

Even if we turn out to have a muddy result that puts us at risk of needing to run a new trial, NWBO management will be able to keep this thing going, even if there is some changeover at the top.

While we could still have stellar results, as you said, no one sits on stellar, world-changing results and so each extra day that passes from data lock decreases the probability of that being the case.

Maybe the Biden administration is holding this back until later in the year so it can positively help his party in what will otherwise be a rough mid-term election much as Big Pharma held back the COVID-19 vaccines until after the 2020 election results were in but I doubt it. This is not saying who is right or wrong or good or bad but simply that for better or worse, politics is a factor in medicine as with any other endeavor.

Remember that just as there have been different 'generations' of NWBO shareholders who have been shellacked over more than a decade, Linda Powers is not the first to run this company.

It would be a good thing for NWBO to have to put up or shut up and for this to be over either for good or ill, as long as it is over.

Unfortunately, that is just not how it works.
