I agree. They can also do some trading for an outfielder. With Lindor at ss for years Mauricio could go. If Lindor and McNeil can't get along then McNeil can go in a trade too, along with Davis who has potential but can't sustain it. They have Vientos and Baty as potential 3rd basemen in the near future so I don't see a long term contract for a third baseman. I like Bryant although his future with the Mets may be in the outfield if they sign him long term. I think Baez will sign elsewhere because he'll get offered more to play shortstop than the Mets will offer him to play second. Bringing in Bryant soon would be a good move and would make the Mets look better to other free agents
It's nice to have a lot of horsepower in the engine room but you need some in the wheelhouse too.
