Thompson started off the 'morning of misassumptions' by making a misleading claim. It would not have taken much to clarify that Notre Dame received the patent and that KBLB enjoys exclusive access to the patent rights.

You are correct that I pointed out the limited scope of enforcement. Today's announcement signals a big change in the patent's power. Having a patent in the EU is a big deal. In world economies, one thinks of the US, China, the EU, and Japan. I suspect that the US and Japan will probably award the patent (if they haven't already). Once it's been cleared by one of the top 4 economies, there is a good chance the intellectual property will be recognized by others. China I'm not sure of, but perhaps them as well.

However, Thompson must not have felt this was important enough to represent a 'material event' because he sat on the news since the end of April.

Time to dig deep into those fibron chains.
