We might need to submit a citizens petition to the FDA regarding the required quality and composition of generic drugs that have a label attached to an indication previously approved based on outcome. I can’t see how a generic that is not 100% identical to a brand can be considered equivalent to treat a condition that was proven over years of use using the brand. I can understand a bio marker measurement but not a long term outcome. Amarin has not provided the bio marker that would indicate success over long term use. Nor should they since it protects them against other weasels trying to use that to steal the label.
