I don't have any problem outsourcing jobs but would like to see other protections for those workers. We need to take a wider view of civilization and not just think of what is happening in the USA. Our population has benefitted by taking advantage of others worldwide. We benefitted by cheap labor overseas in the 80's, 90's, and it continues. We look the other way when it comes to NIKE and Walmart and Apple take advantage of overseas labor. I look at India who has transformed and has grown a middle class (not to say there are not many poor people) but looking at IT there US companies are picking and choosing when they should outsource as it has changed. I was the only American in a company of 250 IT professionals from India. I only spoke 1 language when all the others spoke at least three. It was easy recruiting them in the early 2000's but started to change in the last decade as demand for their services raised their prices to where the individuals would change jobs for higher wages. That caused problems for keeping employees and sustaining quality. I would always use Indians for programing services but not for software architecture. I would use Russians for that in the early 2000's as they were far more talented and much less costly than SA in the USA.

I think worldwide competition and trade is good for the world.
