BcBs changed their guidelines regarding Vascepa in early November. If you are a patient with high triglycerides ONLY and no established cardiovascular disease or a diabetes with 2 additional risk factors (the new cardio indication) BcBs is NOT paying. They will request that you go on generic Omega 3 or fenofibrates. They are honoring only the NEW indication.
From a business perspective I understand why they are doing this, but yeah it does suck.
