With great respect Richard, and you are one of the main reasons I continue to visit this MB, looking to gain knowledge of the technology, I think this is a little different. First off I hope you made a fortune when your company was bought out. As shown below, Acacia was essentially a better mousetrap. Cisco already was doing business with Acacia and it wasn't a completely disruptive new technology. There wasn't a Moore's Law issue of impending doom (is there really one with chips?) in their optical interconnect technologies.

-Acacia designs and manufactures high-speed, optical interconnect technologies that allow webscale companies, service providers, and data center operators to meet the fast-growing consumer demands for data.

Since they were already doing business together I think it would be easier to do a major deal without many eyes seeing and people asking why is this new company that our engineers met and tried new products meeting with the top of the food chain?

If we really can Do the GOO it would have been tested over a long time in their labs with many involved and saying; Oh My Goodness and HOLY S--T! I can list many stocks where there was major share-price increases before incredible news comes out. Can we say some horse buggy maker in the world of Tesla's getting the govt. money to make generic drugs over 1,000x's more established pharmaceutical companies? How many will go to jail there? And what was the stable genius thought of picking them?

Either way with insider buying or without it, I'm getting old and tired of reading old copy and pastes here, looking to see EUREKA news of LWLG stock halted, news pending (with better results than when I owned Coleco stock.)

By the way, regardless of the Cisco arrangement of buying Acacia, what did the company offer that was innovative? See below, and does it sound familiar?

Acacia Communications is able to offer products at higher speeds and density with lower power consumption, that meet the needs of cloud and service providers and can be easily integrated in a cost-effective manner with existing network equipment.

I bust his chops for some bad predictions, but I believe x was the first to either coin or repeat the raison d'etre-FASTER, GREENER, CHEAPER.
Please Dr. L. make it so!
