Go to a military surplus store and get a full-face gas mask with a bunch of extra filter cartridges. Eyes are mucosal membranes and tiny aerosol droplets can land in your eyes and infect you that way also.

I'm joking (butt only about getting the gas mask). Surgical masks are slightly useful, mostly tho for reducing the aersolization of infectious virus FROM the mask wearer (i.e., the reason they are worn in operating rooms is to protect the patient, not the surgeons, gaspasser, and nurses).

Look for companies that manufacture hazmat suits, particularly positive-pressure hazmat suits with battery-powered air-blowers to keep the suit under positive pressure. Those will be flying off the drones once they get listed on Amazon or Alibaba.

Again, I jest. 2019/N simply looks like an influenza-type transmissible infection of a bad-ish flu strain. Nothing to panic about. The overwhelming majority of the folks it will kill would have been killed anyway by a different infection - flu, cold (adeno/picornavirus/etc.), bacterial pneumonia, etc - because they are already infirm. 2019/N will just push those folks over the tipping point - if it wasn't 2019/N, it would simply be something else. This is not the 1918 Spanish flu that was lethal to mostly otherwise healthy young people in their teens and 20s-30s.

Coronavirus 2019/N is most likely not even as bad as the 1968-68 Hong Kong flu. Or Russian flu of 1889. Civilization seems to have survived those OK.

The smartest thing one can do to avoid infectious disease death is simple, and I've been telling DD Frawed Bored every year - GET THE ANNUAL FLU VACCINATION.

2019/N ain't the Andromeda Strain. That's still in the liquid nitrogen storage Dewar in my garage. At least it was last time I Czeched.
