More likely what you are seeing is the lack of medical/scientific understanding of AD cause or causes and a lack of diagnostic tests that are conclusive of the AD diagnosis.

Perhaps you have misjudged the story here and what the real world benefitted from decades of fundamental problem solving incompetencies. Plaque was selected as CAUSAL pathway b/c it fit with what people wanted to believe, they could see it.Their mental models were easily locked in. Even if There world presented massive amounts of conflicting data to the plaque thesis. The medical device people jumped all over the plaque thesis b/c they wanted to develop/sell (H/W-S/W) MRI/PET and all the associated chemistries and clinical lab support, etc, etc. It is a massive money business and once it started it had to be fed. Rationalizations to continue doing more of the same ballooned overnight. Medical device people will stop at nothing to have their device/service/technology written into the clinical/diagnostic process. That is Manna from heaven. It exploded b/c they wanted it to explode and got too big too fast...soon every hospital and clinic had to have one. I could go on but I will not...I was there and know what happened. Any one who questioned what was being done to validate the causal relations being pushed got dirty looks. So, they were completely wrong, and they got away with it. Leadership did not want to hear about flaws in the methods or how the chemistries were toxic. Just do it.

ANAVEX not only has to prove things that will be embarrassing to the entire CNS world but they must do it in a totally bullet proof manner. We will present a threat to just about every aspect of existing medical practices is we are right. Some will become obsolete overnight, although IMO, this is not understood yet.

Our strategy is a strong one as it relies on restoration and regeneration of the human body and CNS, not a trivial concept after 30+ years of heading the wrong friggen way.

If results look strong across RSD/PDD and AD then the thesis is validated. There is certain to be a (now what) learning cycle to follow. The people who make medical devices and all the chemistries used to decorate/highlight plaque clusters still will have a life, they will just have to redefine their rolls. IMO< the closer we get to real science being used the less corruption we will see. Results speak volumes.
