My assessment is and has been, they knew the FDA/NIH rules and processes were broken and worthless but they kept at it anyways. If that is not evidence of corruption then what is it? These people are smart.

I think you are misreading the situation. The FDA doesn't tell companies what trials to propose or what direction companies need to pursue in research. The FDA looks at proposed trials based on the documentation provided by the companies and decides if there is sufficient supporting evidence to support the trial and that the trial design is adequate to demonstrate the efficacy of the drug being tested.

More likely what you are seeing is the lack of medical/scientific understanding of AD cause or causes and a lack of diagnostic tests that are conclusive of the AD diagnosis.

The plaque hypothesis has been pursued mostly because it was one of the things that could be directly associated with AD. Tau tangles are in a similar situation. No one knows for sure what causes plaque buildup or Tau tangles although the science on both is progressing rapidly as has been shown by the article posted on this board.

It seems to me to be a safe bet that if the medical/scientific people at BP thought that they had a better idea to solve the AD dilemma they would choose it to spend the 100's of millions of Dollars they have spent in trials.

People's careers would be made by finding a successful drug for AD.

We may well see that with 2-73.
