I can see the wording could at a stretch be misleading, perhaps sloppily or deliberately so.

Slide 14. Replace "ANAVEX 2-73 Treated" with "Alzheimer's" - Patients have higher Abundance of Bacteroidetes and Firmicutes Phyla in Gut Microbiota.

The implication being that a messed up gut, perhaps through decades of poor diet and lifestyle choices, characterises people who ends up with AD.

Slide 15, say that if a patient have those to bacteria families in higher abundance they respond better to A2-73. It does not say A2-73 caused that higher abundance.

Slide 16, I find that statement inscrutable or just highly speculative. Like what came first the chicken or the egg.
