Yes, that is an important fact regarding Norway's economy that a lot of people are conveniently omitting.

I have seen all over the net this weekend some articles comparing Norway's economy to the United State's economy, and how they can provide free healthcare and paid vacations for everyone at their current tax rates, while the US cannot. But every single one of those articles omits the mention of their wealth fund, which is the real reason they can provide those services. The fund turned an $84 billion profit in just Q1 2019, which translate to over $16,000 per citizen.

If the US Government was earning $64K per person, per year, and providing that money for all their social programs as Norway does, then the US could afford a lot of what Norway is getting, too.

Hats off to Norway that they had the foresight to create the fund and provide such benefits to their citizens, but these authors are comparing apples to hamburgers. Not a legitimate comparison.
