Let's ignore the goofy theory that rolling element bearings are little electrical generators. And we'll even ignore the goofy theory that deionized water is a "conducter". We see here that Cyclone has been trying to use these hybrid bearings (ceramic balls or rollers in steel races) for at least 10 years now.
In 2013, five years ago, Cyclone hired Ohio State University to fix the design problems with the WHE engine. They threw away the "spider bearing", and the engine didn't self destruct as rapidly, but then ran into problems with the water lubricated bearings they couldn't solve. Here's something I posted earlier this year (emphasis added):
The OSU engineers knew of Cyclone's experience with these hybrid bearings. By that time Harry Schoell had spent at least five well-funded years trying to make these bearings survive, and clearly failed. The OSU engineers couldn't come up with bearings that could survive and were planning a whole research program to create such bearings. Cyclone cut the funding and this was never done. No doubt the OSU engineers talked to many bearing companies.
By the way,
Could you provide a link to the NRC bearing company? Google can't find it.
