Show me an emerging company who was acquired hostilely against its board and ceo's will, for a small fraction of the value conveyed to the acquiring company.

At worst, these attempts happen over a long period of time. Missling would be able to state his case to current shareholders as well as potential white knights. We may have several trial results by then, and besides other than Biogen, what company would be privy to information that would make AVXL a viable target to its Board and shareholders. I guarantee you the MTA had provisions barring a BIIB hostile takeover.
