revlis, I think TC is thinking like an ordinary short term investor rather than an analyst. If he puts some of his skills to work, he would understand that both parties needed to get something from the ICC before they could sit down for further discussions. They might have had some earlier discussions which obviously didn't yield anything solid....so, IMHO, they might have the left the table with the hope to return after ICC's decision. From the article posted this morning i twas mentioned that
Samsung is in negotiations with the US firm.

I would expect the analyst to see beyond what a short investor would see and use his/her inference capacity to predict the possible and probable outcomes. I think IDCC is in a better situation as far as negotiations go (more power for horse ttrading) and I guess we would see something within a month (the time limit to render the amount set by ICC).
