Alea, I think my last post explained my "misgivings". It is one thing when INTC try to shove down the throat of the DRAM and PC industry its desire for RDRAM (and fails) and when WAVX try to do the same with TAN and Embassy. Sure they'll get some cooperation from INTC, IBM and others, but the market (just as in the case of SDRAM vs RDRAM and later DDR Dram) will decide what system will prevail. Big financial muscles are needed to get this done. The patent situation is not particularly strong on the security front, since it still involves third party keys or equivalent, (and not a purely PC residing full security system as '239 and '202 were contemplating) a concept broadly patented by others. On the micropayments front, well, that is a concept looking for a market for about 15 years with little success. As I mentioned few days ago, I was forced to do a lot of research in the field of computer security system few years back (thouh, was not aware of '239 and '202, simply because they were not issued, yet at the time), it is a broadly covered arena.
