The campaign against the company was very effective at destroying shareholders, but they might not have met their objective to derail the trials or send the company into bankruptcy, which is what they really want.

I suspect the attacks are either derived from somewhere in the Big Pharma world or by investors with large equity stakes in competing treatments.
