Golferwalt .. Why aren't we able to vote on all these new bonus plan management is getting?

I'm not sure what you mean by "as shareholders we should have control." Exactly how would you implement that and have the company run in a way that would be responsive in a timely manner to its competition? Would you have everything put to a shareholder vote? Or would it only be bonus plans or compensation issues? How would you propose to provide the shareholders with sufficient information to make an informed decision?

What you are suggesting is impractical. Management of any aspect of the day-to-day operations of ANY company by consensus of the shareholders would be a logistical nightmare leading to the almost certain failure of the company.

Manage your money by evaluating the management of the companies in which you invest. Buy/Hold shares in companies that are managed the way that you think a company should be managed. Sell shares in companies that are not managed the way you think they should be.
