I believe IDCC has essential IPRs on the WCDMA-TDD and WCDMA smart antenna implementations.
My question is why IDCC has not been asked to the dance. Are these companies trying to design around IDCC IPR? Remember, there is a shelf life on IPR. I believe the powerful IPRs for these applications are filed around 1993, by Shilling. Is 17 or 20 year is the life of patent? that gives us upto 2010 or 2013, assuming 2006 onward for TDD to be commercially launched, there aren't that many years left to collect.
