Re my funds The FBIOX is an IRA account I've had for longer then I care to remember . As you know Fidelity has penalties if you trade their funds to often so this account is left alone unless it drops more then 15% in value.
IBB is the main position in my separate trading account that I may trade more frequently.
If either account drops 15% in value I move to 50% cash ..I'm very much into capital preservation
I am non diversified in that I am solely biotech ...but like they say "if you are going to have all your eggs in one basket ...watch that basket very closely ". Most of my income is from my investments , so I spent a lot of time researching the macro trends driving biotech ( baby boomers driving demand etc ). I'm also fortunate to live in an area that has a high concentration of talented people doing research in the field and know a couple personally.
What I like about Biotech is that so much of the innovation in the field is happening here in the US , is somewhat immune to politics ( except pricing issues ..note GILD ) , wars , interest rates etc ...
Most small cap Bio's seemed doomed to failure but occaissonally you have these stars that burst onto the scene.
By the way ...anyone have an update on the CHERRY trial ..is data due this Qt or early 2015 ...if positive should be great for AMRN Kiwi
